| SMaRT thinking from First Step Trust FSTs vehicle recycling scheme helps disadvantaged people back into work Work is something most of us take for granted and usually moan about, but having a job and being valued for what we do is an important part of life. That is why First Step Trust specialises in developing work projects for the long-term unemployed. Their new not-for-profit Social Enterprise, FST SMaRT (Socially Minded and Responsible Trading), collects and recycles unwanted vehicles from the Greater Manchester area, whilst creating real work experience in a number of different areas for people who are not in full time education or employment. First Step Trust is investing £3,000,000 in FST SMaRT, with significant amounts coming from the Chancellor’s Invest to Save Budget and the Big Lotteries fund. FST SMaRT need a continuous stream of unwanted, abandoned and scrap cars to enable the project to grow, so if you have an old vehicle in the Greater Manchester area that you would like recycled then please call them on 0161 743 0300 for more details of their free collection service. They also sell a wide variety of reclaimed car parts. |
