Working within the forthcoming requirements of the legislation, Refurbiz has been established to develop a central facility for the collection, sorting, refurbishment and recycling of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and the distribution of re-usable items through a network of furniture re-use organisations in the county.

It aims to alleviate poverty through the increased provision of refurbished re-useable goods at low cost to disadvantaged families, reduce waste and provide training and employment for disadvantaged residents.
