CRN/AN/PR34
To be released immediately
The Community Recycling Network has appointed Lucy Rees as its first dedicated Information Officer. She will be responsible for the dissemination of information among the CRN’s 300 strong membership of community groups, social businesses, environmental organisations and local authority recycling officers.
“I will be developing an information strategy for the organisation, setting up an information hotline and overseeing the revamp of the CRN website,” says Lucy. “The new role means I will be working closely with organisations such as WRAP and Waste Watch to enhance the flow of information within the sustainable waste management industry.”
For the last year Lucy has been the administrator for the CRN’s Measure Your Treasure data project. Prior to joining the CRN she worked for Filton Econet, an organisation that provides environmental and health and safety training. She has a background in teaching and a degree in French and English. Last year she stood in the local elections as a candidate for the Green Party.
Funding for the post has come from the Social, Economic and Environmental Development (SEED) programme.
