Welcome to the North West Community Waste Network’s directory of Community Waste Sector Organisations and their partners, including other key contacts in the region.
Much of the work done by this sector goes unseen; perhaps not the recycling and re- use activities, but the social and economic contributions these organisations make to their communities. These things are more difficult to quantify, though just as real and hugely important.
It’s a great pleasure to have been involved in producing this directory, something tangible that documents the number and diversity of community waste sector organisations, all doing their bit to make their communities more inclusive. Hopefully this directory will make their services more easily accessible.
Whatever their size or area of work, they are all linked by a common desire to reduce the amount of waste that is sent for disposal by landfill and incineration and a commitment to maximising re-use and recycling of waste materials for the benefit of their communities.
In the past 3 years the network has provided:
- A fortnightly e-news bulletin
- One to one advice and business support
- Networking and training events for the whole range of community waste sector organisations operating in the region
- Support for existing and emerging county-level networks
- Strengthened links with strategic regional agencies
- High profile events developing cross sectoral partnerships
We are working hard to deliver services and events that support the growth of this vibrant sector in the region.

The purpose of the North West Community Waste Network, in conjunction with other networks around the region is to:
- Provide tailor-made services for community waste organisations including consultancy, business support and training events.
- Increase the opportunities for the sector to deliver social, environmental and economic benefit.
- Lobby and represent community sector interests at the local and regional government level.
- Secure funds to develop core support services.
- Increase partnership working with local authorities within the region
