An unrepentant organised crime boss has been jailed for 4 years for running a massive illegal waste site near Reading and laundering millions of pounds in profits - the longest prison sentence ever handed out for waste crime.

The new iCon Environmental Innovation Centre opens today (June 30) in Daventry, Northamptonshire.

The £8.5 million centre has been built to help develop Northamptonshire's low carbon construction expertise.

A waste prevention loan fund to encourage organisations to develop more resource-efficient business models has been launched by the Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP).
