EASTERN REGION There are plans to up-date and re-print the Eastern regional directory in the next month all those in the present directory have been contacted to make sure their details are correct. If you have been contacted and you have yet to reply, please get back to Heidi soon as possible at heidi@crn.org.uk so that she can make the appropriate changes. The directory has been a huge hit with local authorities and the business community, with over 3000 distributed. Great efforts are made to keep it up to date on the website when the team are made aware of any changes. Have a look at www.crn.org.uk/cwne/directory to make sure you are in there and that all the right information is listed. This is an informal meeting, but it is hoped that it will produce some stronger commitments to joint working. Meanwhile following a successful 'meet the buyer' event between the community sector and businesses, Community Waste Network North West is trying to find ways of keeping the Resource Saver project running. For those who don't know, this programme is about connecting Commercial waste in all its forms with community sector solutions. Resource Saver's inaugural two months pilot was very successful and it would be a shame for the impetus to be lost. In Cumbria, it is looking very likely that the network will be involved in creating a new community enterprise in the Lakes National Park to deal with the catering waste collected from the tourism industry. Information on the Resource Saver North West website has recently been updated: http://www.resourcesaver.org.uk/ Funding wise, the North West network has been allocated funding for this year from Cumbria and Greater Manchester authorities. At this stage it is necessary to cut back on the services organisations receive whilst this search continues. The CRN UK will be providing a peer exchange email address to allow SW CWN members to share information directly with other groups within the region. The Community Waste Network South West steering group will continue to meet and feed back important information to this peer network. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- YORKSHIRE AND HUMBER Leeds' new social enterprise specialising in reused office furniture is launching an exciting new competition.
