Social Enterprise Coalition to head up ambassadors programme

Minister for the Third Sector, Ed Miliband, has announced that a consortium headed by the Social Enterprise Coalition will develop and deliver the Government's new programme to create ambassadors for social enterprise. The programme aims to establish at least 20 ambassadors, who will raise awareness and try to attract new people to the sector. For this reason, they are likely to be established figures from the sector with a passion for social enterprise. The consortium combines experts in media relations, training and innovation, who will put together the programme, which will be funded by the Office of the Third Sector in the Cabinet Office. It will be led by the Social Enterprise Coalition and include Society Media/Social Enterprise Magazine, School of Social Entrepreneurs and The New Economics, among others.
