New appointment for Alupro

The Aluminium Packaging Recycling Organisation (Alupro) has appointed Rick Hindley, 43, as their Executive Director. Alupro is a not for profit organisation, funded by leading UK aluminium packaging and reprocessing companies. It has responsibility for meeting targets through work on practical recycling programmes and public education.

Rick begun his recycling career at the industry sponsored Aluminium Can Recycling Organisation back in 1989. Ten years later he moved to Alcan/ Novelis as their Operations manager and later became National Manager. In 2005 he moved to Valpak as Corporate and Local Government Affairs Manager before joining Alupro in early February 2007.

Alupro Chairman Derek Peden stated: " We are delighted that Rick is joining us because his knowledge of the industry has been gained from several different viewpoints, and he is therefore well placed to serve the very best interests of our membership".
