Reuse hits all the right notes
Andy Thorpe, Director of Performing Arts at Bushfield Community College commented: "The musical notes donated by Restore/ Queensgate really added to our production. The students involved really got a buzz from the set construction and were thrilled by the addition of the musical notes. They added a real professional quality". The Regional Resource Saver East Project represents over 130 community groups in East Anglia and is dedicated to minimising the amount of waste sent to landfill through re-use, recycling and composting by community, charitable or not-for-profit groups such as Restore. Queensgate are one of several local companies connected to Resource Saver wishing to help the community by donating unwanted goods and display materials, which can then be reused by others. Lesley Thomas, Restore's project manager stated: "From as little as £52.88 a year, Restore members can collect a trolley full of art and craft materials every week for a year at no further cost. We are always happy to hear from businesses that want to help by donating the weird and wonderful as well as the obvious. The giant notes have flown out of the store and found homes in schools, playgroups and youth centres all over the area. Without the contributions of businesses like Queensgate and the Resource Saver project we would not exist".
