WRAP communications roster

The Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP) has announced the results of its communications roster review, covering marketing, design, PR and exhibitions.

WRAP is a government-funded organisation that works to encourage and enable businesses and consumers to be more efficient in their use of materials and to recycle more. These measures help to minimise landfill, reduce carbon emissions and improve the environment. Recent campaigns, designed to positively change the behaviour of consumers towards waste and recycling, include 'Recycle Now' and 'Love Food Hate Waste'.

WRAP decided to reduce the number of agencies on its communications roster in order to achieve a more integrated approach across its programmes. The roster is now comprised of fifteen agencies: five in marketing (Bray Leino Ltd, Archibold Ingall Stretton, Corporate Culture, Touch DDB, WARL Group Limited), three in design (FHD, Rees & Company, Smith Creative), one in exhibitions (Ryan Turner Hope) and six in PR (3 Monkeys Communications, Bray Leino Ltd, Camargue, Fishburn Hedges, Ptarmigan PR Ltd, Trimedia). The changes to the roster are effective from 1 April; successful agencies include a mix of existing suppliers and newcomers to the WRAP roster. The agencies were appointed through the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) process.

Nick Gammage (pictured), the newly appointed Director of Communications at WRAP, who led the process said: "Effective communications with stakeholders are critical to WRAP in driving the waste reduction and recycling agenda. We are entering a critical phase for our development and are delighted to be working with such high calibre agencies at a time when climate change and resource management are so high up the political and social agenda. The successful agencies demonstrated both high quality thinking and an obvious passion to work alongside WRAP in this area."
