Sustainability Projects Manager at Corus
The position of Sustainability Projects Manager has been created at Corus Steel Packaging Recycling (CSPR). Nicola Bennett has stepped into the role to help manage the company's environmental impact.
Corus is Europe's second-largest steel producer, with a crude steel production of about 20 million tonnes per year. Its packaging recycling sector aims to promote the recovery and recycling of all types of steel packaging in the UK. Nicola joined the company (then British Steel) in 1999 and has worked as Communications Manager at CSPR since 2006. She will take responsibility for helping customers of Corus, including can makers, fillers, brand owners and retailers, promote steel as a sustainable packaging material.
Commenting on her new role, Nicola said: "I am delighted with the move and looking forward to the challenges presented by my new role, where I will be working to promote the benefits of steel packaging to the customers and partners of CSPR.
"Whilst Corus will continue to work local authorities and waste management companies to increase the tonnages of steel packaging collected for reprocessing, this new role will also allow us to encourage the packaging chain, retailers and ultimately consumers to consider the environmental impact of different packaging materials."
