This section contains Material-Specific Factsheets that set out methodologies for ascertaining the tonnage of material collected where a weighing facility is not available or accessible.

Each methodology looks at ways of establishing a reliable volume / density figure from which a tonnage figure can be determined.

Factsheets on the following materials are available to download as PDF documents. The factsheets are based on the Measure Your Treasure guidelines, originally produced by the Community Recycling Network, in consultation with community waste sector groups. They are specifically designed to give guidance for community groups in measuring and recording the quantities of materials they collect, in a range of differing scenarios.
